  Was really surprised at how easy this was to fit. Had the old one drilled out and new one fitted in no joke 4 minutes! Highly recommend and will save a foutune in engineer costs

  An appropriate device 17 October 2015

  I required this device for my tumble drier that ceased working. I also bought a drive belt, which had also broken. I was able to identify the type of drum shaft I needed from the excellent videos that Espares produces. Without the videos the job would have been much more difficult. I especially like the tip about taking pictures of the wiring connections before disconnecting them. I only gave four stars for value because this type of shaft is a lot more expensive than the bolt-off, bolt-on replacement.

  The parts came via next day delivery and it really was next day delivery! They came with instructions and the part was very easy to fit! I now have a 5yr old tumble dryer that is like new. All round fantastic service and parts. I would definitely use and recommend E-spares again.

  Excellent kit 17 August 2015

  Used in conjunction with the espares video - which made tackling the job no problem at all - even for an amateur. Pesonal note: Having drilled out old rivots with 5.5mm drill found that there was still a very significant lip to each hole. Drilled through with 6mm bit which removed these lips almost completely and allowed job to be completed very successfully - holes not too large - screws and nuts keeping dryer shaft in place as intended. Shame that this kit didn't come with front and rear seals and bearing pads. Got these together in another kit (ES1672017) even thought actual shaft in this kit was useless to me.

  Tumble Drier re-born 05 August 2015

  Bought this kit after my 8 year old drier bearing failed. Used Espares excellent video to understand what I needed to do and did exactly as the video said. Drilling out the existing shaft was a bit hairy and I would recommend going slowly to avoid burrs on the areas left when the rivet is cleared out. Apart from that the only other problem I encountered was fitting the belt back on the motor drive shaft. This requires super human strength and in the end I gave up and released the drum bearing,fitted the belt round the motor shaft and moved the drum shaft back into the bearing. All in all the rebuild took about 1.5 hours and considering I am an electronics engineer and not a mechanical one this should be easy for most people to do. (Note I also replaced the front 4 plastic bearings at the same time also using Espares video for guidance.)
