Use the correct burner ring
Use a hob ring the same size as your saucepan. If the hob is smaller than the pan, the food will take longer to cook and if it's larger heat can escape around the edge and could even melt the pan's handle!
Keep the door glass clean
Opening your oven door during cooking allows heat to escape. Instead, clean your oven door glass regularly. That way, you can see inside the oven clearly, without affecting the internal temperature.
Check the door seal
If the seals around the edge of your oven are damaged, hot air will escape from your appliance. Check your oven door seals regularly for wear and tear and replace them if they're not doing their job.

Check your dryer's setting
Check whether your model of tumble dryer has an auto-dry function. Timed dryer cycles can leave your machine running even after your items are dry so the auto-dry setting is much better for your bills.
Don't overfill your dryer
If your tumble dryer is too full it will take longer to dry but leave it too empty and you'll have to run more cycles. Fill your dryer about half full for the best results and untangle your laundry before drying.
Check your filters
Running your tumble dryer with a lint filter that hasn't been cleaned is both inefficient and unsafe. Remove lint build-up on the filter after every drying cycle to save energy and help prevent fire risks.
