This part is expensive for a bent piece of metal. Part arrived not flat although it had been ground. Required a hammer and two blocks to reduce high spot in centre of blade.

what is the cause of this please

There are a few reasons as for why this may be happening. One of which is the fact the lawnmower's blades may be unbalanced. Another reason could be the fact that the blades have been put on incorrectly or the wrong way. If one of the blades is upside down, the result can turn out leaving patches of uncut grass. Ensure your mower's blades are on correctly, both are secured tightly to the mower deck and both are balanced.
