Qmy AEG santo 927718871 evaporation pans overflowed1 Answer
fridge bought Jan 2008. I noticed that it was damp at the back. FOUR overflow pans were full and had overflowed. No other fridge I have ever had had more than one pan. None overflowed. I cleaned them all out. checked that the drainage tube from the fridge was patent and clean but had difficulty pushing the down pipe, which was pushed over a cross shaped piece of polythene to hold it into position in the first overflow dish. so I have pushed it so that it is emptying near the cross but not clicked over it. After a week, the first pan is full and overflowing into the second slowly. I have not moved the location of the fridge, spilled anything into it or left the door open.
Do you have any ideas why this has started to happen please and if so, is there a part that I could replace or procedure I could do to fix it???
Many thanks. PS I am already on your email list.

There is not likely to be a fault with the fridge but the problem is likely to be with the installation. Moisture from air will always condense on the cold plate on the back of the fridge. This is defrosted regularly and the water evaporates from the heat of the motor. If there is not enough circulation of air the water may build up and overflow. Increase the airflow by raising the fridge on wooden rails either side and ensure it is not pushed to close to the wall.
