Dishwasher Guide - Replacing an Inlet Valve

Replacing a Dishwasher Inlet Valve

Warning

Safety First
Disconnect your dishwasher from the power supply and turn off water supply before performing this procedure.

Disconnect water inlet hose
Remove retaining screws
1 Drain the dishwasher and disconnect or isolate it from the mains supply. Turn off the water supply and disconnect the hose from the supply tap. Pull the dishwasher out and then disconnect the water inlet hose at the back of the unit. To do this, you may need to turn the dishwasher onto its side.
2 Remove the retaining screws or clips holding the dishwasher casing together. Remove the top, side and back panels, and turn the dishwasher onto its side. Then pull out the retaining pins at the rear that lock the base hinges closed.

Free valve by pushing locking pin
Label connectors on valve
3 Carefully pivot the base away from the body of the dishwasher. Use a blunt object, such as a cross-head screwdriver, to push the locking pin that secures the inlet valve to the back of the machine and turn the valve to free it.
4 Carefully pull the valve away from the dishwasher base. Label the connectors on the inlet valve and disconnect the cables and pipes. Then, referring to the tags on the old valve, connect up the new valve before reassembling the dishwasher.
