Hi, I’m Rory from eSpares.

In this video, I’m going to show you how to replace the fuel line in this Qualcast Classic Petrol lawnmower.

Now if there’s a leak coming from your fuel line, it’s imperative that you replace it as soon as possible, as obviously leaking petrol is very dangerous. The good news is that it’s really easy to replace.

Safety first though, do make sure that you don’t have a lighter or matches in your pocket, or any sort of flame in your general vicinity, and we also recommend that you disengage the spark plug as well when doing any work on a petrol mower.

Now the first thing I’m going to do is remove the petrol tank from the mower itself just to make my life easier. Ok, so you’re draining the petrol so just make sure you’ve got your jerry-can ready and some tissues to mop up the spillage. Now I’m just going to make sure that the fuel tanks on nice and tight and now I can remove the fuel tank from the mower.

I can now get my tank down here and I’m just going to hold it so it’s lower than the end of the fuel line, this will prevent spillage when I remove the fuel line from the mower. So I’m now just going to remove this pinch clip and I can pull the fuel line away, we’re now ready to drain.

Now I’ve drained the fuel tank, I need to remove the fuel line from the tank. To do that, I’ll need to remove this line here, and this clip here, it’s held in place by a flathead screw so I’ll just need to remove that, there we go.

I can now pull the old fuel line away and fit the new one is just the opposite. I’ll just put it on, it will be a bit of a tight squeeze first, and then once it’s on, you’ll just need to tighten up the clip again with your flathead screwdriver. Now I just need to put the new fuel line onto the carburettor, again it will be a bit tight. There you go. Once you make sure both clips are firmly in place, you’re good to go.

Fuel lines for most make and model of petrol lawnmower are available on the eSpares website.

Thanks for watching.
