  This is a genuine Dyson part and very reasonably priced, however it was extremely difficult to fit. It was very fiddly but worth the effort as it's much cheaper than buying a new cleaner

  DYSON DC24 on/off switch 16 November 2015

  The online video didn't relate to my model but it was still fairly easy to fit this excellent genuine Dyson product. Care is needed when re-fitting the spring under the cover and in fitting the rubber seal around the outlet when re-fixing the cover.

  My dyson would not switch off by the machine only by the plug socket. I went online and watched an espares video about the on/off switch, very informative so I ordered one. When I received it I followed the video to replace the old one, that was easier said than done, I struggled for ages trying to remove the housing, in the end I had to lever it off with a screwdriver. Replacing the switch and the housing was easy. Alas, now my dyson won't work at all! Oh well at least I tried before buying a new vacuum.

  Such a small part for an important operation, on/off now controlled from cleaner and not from wall socket.Did not realise that spares were as easily supplied.

  Easy to fit just 2 special screws to undo. Fitted in five minutes. Not cheap but prefer to use manufacturers parts. next day delivery didn't happen but that might be down to Royal Mail.
