Saved from buying a new dishwasher 16 September 2010

Solved the problem, easy to fit, only issue is the price feels like the manufacturer ripping people off by fitting a part that it knows is likely to break then charging over the odds for it because the alternative is a new dish washer

    Just what I needed! 29 November 2009

Having read the other reviews, decided this was what I needed to put an end to my "dispenser drawer won't shut" issue - it was! Problem solved for less than £30 - brilliant!

Fixed My Problem 28 October 2009

As others have said, this is the bit to buy if your soap dispenser lid is either not latching closed or is opening too early in the wash cycle. There is a moulded catch on the underside of the lid that just wears away in time. Just prise away the retaining lugs from the dispenser tracks to free the lid. Take care to note how the spring attaches before you remove it. Push the new lid post firmly over the spring attachment and re-engage the lugs. Voila - clean dishes again! Very expensive for what it is however, as is postage.

Fitting Bosch detergent lid 14 September 2009

The lid arrived only a few days after ordering despite being out of stock. I fitted the lid using the following steps: Prise of the old lid with a screw driver, it is fairly robust and you need to apply a bit of force to ease back the plastic. To remove the spring from the old lid I used  a scredriver to carefully ease the spring of the dispenser unit first then (with the lid removed from unit)a pair of blunt nosed pliers to push the spring eyelets past the protrusion on the post on the lid itself . A screw driver helped to ease it of the post. To fit the spring to the new lid I first attached the spring to the lid and used the pliers to push it over the post. This is a tight fit and requied a fair bit of force to get it into position. To fit the other end of the spring onto the dispenser unit I managed to move the lid to the side which allowd me to get access to the spring and the post on the unit. Again this need a bit of force to ease the spring over the post protrusions. With both ends of the spring attached (and the lid loose) I positioned the lid over the unit and it was not difficult to re-engage the door slides again. Overall very dooable with a bit of care.

Tough to fit but worth it 27 August 2009

This is my advice on how to fit this part: The spring: there is a large hole and a small hole on each spring arm. The large hole attaches to the machine side and the small end attaches to the dispenser lid. Positioning: Looking at the machine side you will see the coil of the spring will fit into the curved corner and use it like a runner with the bottom arm attached to the machine and the upper arm attached to the lid. The fiddly bit: The small hole WILL fit over both of the flexible arms of the lug, pinching them together, but I found that I had to make the small hole of the spring very slightly larger with a pair of pliers to get it over without snapping off the plastic arms so you'll need to be forceful but careful... Once you've got the spring attached to the lid position it over the machine-side pop the larger hole over the lug and. spread-eagling the door, fit the runners into the door track and BINGO! I hope that's somewhat helpful!

    Solved a problem 04 June 2009

The Dishwasher dispenser lid replaced an existing one that had worn over time. My only complaint is that it is very expensive, but then compared to a new soap dispenser or having a call out it is cheap! If you manage to keep the spring attached to the dishwasher, or see which way round it goes before it flies off its pin, the job though fiddly would be much easier. In my case the spring had come off and the first half hour was spent trying to figure out which way it should go back! Then it was easy, and it works!!
