  Be aware 17 May 2017

  When the shelves first arrived I was thrilled with them .However they are a little flimsy and although they expand to the width of your oven if you knock the shelf at all they move.I had a tray of roast potatoes in hot fat ,the shelf moved and then collapsed .I managed to catch it before a complete disaster happened but not before fat and potatoes had spilt all over the inside of the oven. .Would not recommend for roasting but ok for party food.

  Disappointing 29 July 2016

  The base oven rack is fine however the extendable shelves are disappointing. The extension part is very sloppy and it is all too easy to knock the side in when pulling the rack out to access a tray or dish. I have another rack that is much better in that it has a screw fixing to lock the extension sides in place. Made an assumption in error that these would be the same.

  The kit was not of good quality and the fixing pins do not fit properly. I would hesitate to put anything heavy on them. Would certainly not recommend, buy the correct item instead.

  Great Idea - Dangerous Solution 15 September 2015

  I bought this kit some months ago. Great idea. Great price. Awful product...and dangerous. The shelves do not stay extended, despite installing as instructed, and this has caused a number of dangerous situations of shelves falling during cooking, loaded with hot dishes. The bottom shelf works fine - useful addition. However, the two extendable shelves are poorly designed and did not work for me. I am now buying permanent replacements. I wish I had done this before.

  great idea just too flimsy 13 January 2015

  I bought this kit as it seemed like great value. However the design is poor for the job at hand and i can see the shelves collapsing after a while. think they will be ok for emergency use but not everyday. Oven bottom shelf is pretty good though

  Poor replacement for standard shelves 03 October 2014

  Having inherited a beautiful SMEG range (2 ovens & a 6 burner hob), I had to get shelves for the main oven, and immediately looked to eSpares for a replacement, having had excellent products and service from them in the past. I was very disappointed with the loosely fitting extendable ends, and also the fact that all of the cross wires on the shelf are located in the middle, leaving 3 inch (12 cm) gaps at either side, so you cannot use the full width of your oven. There is no way of locking the extending sides in place, so they are very prone to easing inwards and resulting in a collapsing shelf, which ain't funny when there's a large, hot casserole dish resting on top. Consequently, and very quickly, I have ordered a full SMEG range furniture set, which has cost considerably more, but which is guaranteed to fit perfectly and serve me well for the life of the cooker. I cannot find anything to recommend these shelves for, unless you are using them at their narrowest, in which case they are very well priced. The base oven shelf with the folding legs is also pretty neat, and will continue in the oven and as a cooling rack for baked bread & cakes. So not quite all bad.
