Really easy to fit 10 December 2013

After experiencing the dreaded Bosch F16 fault code for a few weeks and having to slam the door shut to get the machine to run, last week it finally gave up. Even one day without a washing machine with a family is a nightmare so I researched the part needed and ordered it from Espares on next day delivery. I had removed the old door interlock the night before so fitting the new one took all of about 10 mins with re fitting the seal around the drum the most fiddly part. If your interlock is NOT fitted with screws this is the part to buy and has two plastic blips that clip into the holes in the front of the machine. The video on espares helpfully shows you how to remove the seal so that you can get to the back of the door interlock. (You do not need to remove any panels to change this switch)

I have fixed my washing machine:-) 17 April 2012

Nearly miraculous, and VERY satisfying I took a washing machine apart and fixed it! My tips are: Do not do it alone, washing machines are heavy, and you need a second pair of hands to hold some bits in place. Make lots of use of the mobile camera, I spent 20 minutes trying to clip a piece back onto the body of the machine only to work out it went onto the front. Take the machine into an area you have plenty of space. The whole operation took me two hours, during which I sat on my glasses! The hardest thing was getting the rubber seal back in place. However the machine was one month past the warranty, and I refuse to "buy" more warranty time, just because they make poor machines. From now on I will say with confidence, "Don't need it e-spares will help me sort it out if it breaks down." P.S. anonymous made this sound so easy I don't believe he exists!

There's life in the old Bosch yet! -Thanks E-spares! 30 March 2012

I was able to diagnose my problem only because I was able to follow some tips from a really useful video provided by E-Spares and get the door interlock out without fear of doing any further damage to the machine. A circuit test confirmed that the reason for the machine failure was that the interlock was reporting that the door was open. Finding the correct part on the website was easy and so was the fitting. It saved me some considerable expense as my good lady was already looking to change the whole machine even though it's only 2yrs old.
