To replace the knob take the control panel off the front panel. The knob is attached to the control panel by two catches on the raised shoulders that spring out and prevent removal. You may need to dismantle the module so you can press these catches and release the knob.

I need a new dial/knob but wondering if this would fit my hotpoint aquarius wmf560 washing machine? The knob that is in the picture looks the same.Thanks

The socket at the back of this knob can brake and it will then no longer turn the control to change the programme. Replacing this part will usually resolve the problem.
