Very difficult fit 22 May 2015

The Zanussi FJS1425W has been going well since 2001 & then started leaking from a split door seal. This seal is an excellent match to the original. Note where things are on pulling off the original seal & don't break the plastic outer ring & wait for the surprise of the inner spring. Fit the inner part of the seal first but apply washing up liquid to the grove - I struggled for 1hr with dry fitting, learnt a bit & then fitted it in 2min with the washing up liquid in situ. The next part is a nightmare - fitting the inner spring. This is much smaller in diameter than where it is going, requires lots of stretching deep inside machine & little room to get at it. Read all the other peoples entries here & they are not exaggerating & in my opinion they were softening the blow. You can not remove the front of the machine, though you can take off the lid & this gives some limited but crital access. Many attempts later I finally managed to pull the spring around the seal with a satisfying click, starting at the bottom & working up. It took the help of my wife & cut fingers & copious swearing but a very satisfying feeling. Fitting the front part of the seal with its plastic spring is easy. Not tried the machine yet but just basking in the relief of completing the impossible puzzle of getting that inner spring on.

Zanussi washing machine 13 October 2014

tried follow the video instructions to fit the new door seal, but the front panel of our machine wraps around half way of each of the sides, so bit confused as to how to remove it! Will sadly have to call in the professionals but hopefully will have saved some money as the part looks exactly as expected.

Awful to fit on a Zanussi Jetstream 1200 06 July 2013

Well, the video is useless for the Jetsteam, as you cannot take off the front, and here your troubles start. You have to get the seal on, and for that your hands are pushed through the door hole. Use washing up liquid to lubricate the seal so it slips into the outer drum groove. Then the spring needs to be fitted back.... You need two people, and I suggest two large, broad bladed flat screwdrivers. We started (actually, started many hours earlier, trying other, unsuccessful ways) with getting the spring fed in at the 1 o'clock position, put the blade of the screw diver such that it will stop the spring coming out, blade accross the gap, not pushed in, and get other person to hold. Feed spring around to the 5 o'clock position, ensure it is as far back as possible, and use second screwdriver in the same way (blade across gap). With the spring now held in place over about a third of the circle, you need to pull and feed it over the rest. Push it as far far back as you can, hopefully it will slip into the groove where it belongs. I found that again, a good coating of washing up liquid helped. This final approach still took 4 attempts, and 30 minutes. You will have sore fingers and knuckles, at the finish you may well have a well stretched spring pulled around the outside of your hand as you ease it over the last bit of the seal. Push it well back, and there is hopefully a rubber muffled snap as it slips into the right place! I think one of those jobs it is worth paying someone else to do, and "ease of fitting" is in no way a term I would use to give any rating to this product, though that is no fault of espares! It is an absolute......

Excellent product, but needs a strong expertise warning! 24 December 2012

The door seal for this model washing machine Zanussi Jetsystem 1200 is perfect in quality. My only issue is with the help video on the eSpares site suggesting that these door seals are easy to fit. Do not believe it! Fitting this seal nearly killed me, and I would consider myself to be pretty competent at these kinds of jobs! The front of this model washing machine is not removable without completely dismantling the machine, so the only option is to fit the seal through the larger than normal door opening. Not too bad, but very different from the help video. Getting the seal off is easy enough, but re-fitting the wire spring and back lip of the seal is where things went horribly wrong. First of all, the lip is nearly impossible to locate into the correct flange. Second, it is definitely a two person job slowly easing the lip and wire spring into place without one side of the spring constantly slipping off. The physical effort involved in this process left me aching all over for at least the following day. This is not an easy task at all. Finally, eSpares should seriously consider supplying a Jubilee clip to re-fit the top hose connection (the "Jetsystem" water recycling hose which is part of the seal). The original clip is not suitable for re-fitting without a special tool, so a replacement simple Jubilee clip is an absolute necessity. Buy one yourself if eSpares do not add this to the purchase package. So my final advice is - do not buy this item unless you are really patient, have strong small hands and you are good at fiddly difficult tasks!

replacing Zanussi door seal 12 October 2011

Lovely job when it was finished but not quite the same job as the very helpful video. since the Zanussi can't be taken as far apart you definitely need 2 people to put the new seal onto the drum and tilt the machine back about 45 degrees to get small strong fingers into it, but after that it is all plain sailing.

Very Good Purchase. 25 May 2010

The website was veryeasy to use and the correct seal easy to find. A very competative price and excellent delivery. One word of warning is that it is not the easiest thing to fit. It needed two of us. Overall a good seal, and excellent service. Very Pleased.

    Cleaner washing! 30 December 2009

The rubber door seal for our Zanusssi machine was going black. Now 66yrs old I was a bit apprehensive about the replacement but the video on espares website reassured me that it would be straightforward. Part received within 4 days, despite it being Christmas, (although Royal Mail left it in our dustbin!). Replacement not quite as easy as your fitter makes it seem, but after a couple of hours with my wife and I suffering with sore fingers (and a few swear words!), the machine now smells much better, and no leaks!
