Will this part fit my appliance?

This product is compatible with:

  • Cookers & Hobs that meet the criteria in the description (see the video too)

This universal door seal is designed to fit most modern ovens that have a three sided seal. The seal attaches to the body of the oven by a single hook in each corner.

Please make sure that there is a single hole in each corner of your oven. This will not fit ovens that have two holes in each corner.

Oven Door Seal Holes

The kit includes a 1.5m length of black door seal that you cut to the right size for your oven, plus 2 corner and 2 straight hooks to attach the seal to the body. Comes with full fitting instructions.

To fit the new seal:

  1. Measure the distance between the holes
  2. Cut the top and sides of the seal to size
  3. Trim the corners to 45° on the top seal and at the top section only of the side seal. Leave the bottom section of the side seal at 90°
  4. Insert the barbed corner hooks into the slot of the seal at the top corners
  5. Insert the barbed straight hook into the slot of the seal at the bottom of the sides
  6. Clip the corner hooks into the top holes and the straight hooks into the bottom holes on the face of the oven

Where possible we would recommend that you order a branded/genuine door seal for your cooker. To find out if we carry the door seal for your oven please enter your oven model number in the search box above.

An easily fitted alternative part, but follow the instructions supplied. An excellent video is provided on the web site to enable you to see how it is done. Make sure the right length is cut to enable correct tensioning of the seal. Otherwise the hooks will not fasten properly and the seal will sag, if too loose. Remember the old saying, measure twice, cut once. This will ensure correct measurement.

The seal was easy to cut and fitted snugly. However, when the oven heated up, the seal expanded quite a lot, sagging noticeably in the middle along the top, providing no seal at all. When the oven cooled, it returned to its original position.

Recut the sagging part a little shorter to allow for expansion when warm.

Sounds like your oven cooling fan is not working

Hi andy1976, it sounds as if heat is escaping from the top oven, causing the control knobs to melt. A damaged door seal is the most common reason for this happening. Check out the video on this page for help fitting the door seal.

  • Q Can a universal seal kit be slided in to place as on my stoves 050551109.?The seal on my oven has no clips? 1 Answer

The seal on my top & main oven has no clips and the seal just slides into place as described in the maintenance book that came with oven.It says it can be replaced by sliding a new one in then trim to size. Will this unversal kit work?

It may be possible to modify your oven to accept this seal but I would only recommend this if you cannot obtain the original part. The oven has been designed to use the original seal and therefore is likely to work as good as possible with that part, this may not be the case with an alternative.

We would always recommend a genuine part, instead of a universal part, for your oven if one is available. Please enter your model number in the search facility above to see if we carry the genuine part for your oven prior to ordering this universal part. If you’re not sure where to find your model number on your cooker, please have a look at our guide: http://www.espares.co.uk/findingmodelnumbers.aspx. This oven seal is 1.5 meters in length and is meant to be cut to size for your oven.
