  excellent replacement item 26 November 2012

  Was delighted when this arrived as the select button had given up the ghost on our original control. It took a little bit longer to arrive than I hoped (5 days) but I had not paid for express delivery. Inserted batteries (not supplied) pressed the buttons and it worked!!

  Renewed our Sky HD box last October, and soon discovered how poor quality the latest remotes are, the last one (with the old Thomson HD box) lasted around three years before becoming 'unusable'. Some months after using the new HD box I complained to Sky and received a new remote. Wasn't long before the new one became annoying - same old 'spongy' buttons, poor response etc. However, at least it was free. So I decided to purchase a 'spare' from here as the price was half what a lot of others are charging. One customer review I read suggested that these remotes were made by Philips and seemed better quality than the Sky ones, well mine is exactly the same - no better, no worse. Sky really should get a grip and restore the quality of their remotes to what they used to be. So to sum up, these remotes from eSpares are a very good price, but don't expect them to be any different to the very poor quality ones supplied by Sky.
