  not easy for Hoover PE235 13 January 2018

  Although exactly the same parts, this was not an easy job for the Hoover PE235. The 'how to' video is not for this machine, nor uses the same parts, and although it does generally explain the procedure well, it makes it look far easier than it actually is for this particular model. The spring needs to be held under considerable tension while passing through the pin. Gave up several times before finally managing to succeed, so was worth it in the end, but be warned, for this model, it is not an easy job.

  I went online found the right handle, checked it would fit my machine. I ordered the door handle on Friday and I had it by Monday. Followed the online video and had it fitted and the machine running in 10 minutes. No hassle and no drama. Good price, right part, quick delivery.

  Difficult to fit and without fitting instructions/tips. 16 April 2015

  Quick delivery. A bit disappointed that it's grey and not white. Product description failed to mention colour. There are no fitting instruction provided. As a little pin has to be slotted down through a spring and the new handle it's very fiddly/difficult to do.

  Think twice before buying this 07 February 2015

  Website shows part in white but came in a dirty grey colour. Tried to fit following espare online video. The video for my machine (hoover hspf167) looked very simple to follow until I noticed the engineer was actually repairing a completely different machine which did not have the same components as mine. After a day struggling, had to call in an engineer. He fitted it but the handle and catch do not sit flush, so now the machine leaks on every wash and spin. I am now having to hold door flush with the aid of gaffer tape to prevent leakage! Engineer also said door hinge looks like it may need replacing soon. Bit disconcerting as not long replaced this with a part from espares! At this rate, think its going to be cheaper to invest in a new machine.

  Functional Replacement 02 December 2014

  Shame it wasn't white to match the machine as per the picture of the part! Took about 10 min to fit! Extra pair of hands, just to assist when locating the pin through the catch & spring!

  The handle is grey whereas the original was white but looks OK, it is a bit of a fiddle to fit and having someone else to push the pin through when you have it all aligned is a must .

  Does the job 29 September 2014

  The video doesn't reflect how difficult some of these are to fit - you will need an assistant to do some Hoover models (mine is HSPF167). Why do these last only 3 years, it's surely not beyond some boffin in this age to develop a more robust system ?
