  Using these shelves in a fridge, the range of expansion is wide consequently our shelf has 2 large gaps either side and is not as strong as it might be. Better to have 2 sizes each with a smaller expansion range.

  Brilliant idea but it's a bit ricketty!! The extendable bit is simple though. It'll be fine until I get my new oven that has more than one shelf!!

  Useful but be careful 23 December 2008

  I purchased this because the branded alternative for my cooker costs over £50. The shelf arrived "squashed" down to it's smallest size. It was rather stiff and difficult to extend,and when I did one of the spring clips which (presumably) holds the bars in place sprang out. There being no obvious or easy way to put it back I have left it out. The shelf seems to be secure enough without it. It is not as strong as the proper cooker shelves so would not advise putting a heavy dish on it. Also it does not go the full depth of the cooker, but this should not be a major problem.
