  This product is a useful addition to an oven for any cook. The quality is acceptable for the price, although the thickness of the grid bars is less than that of the original oven shelves in the case of my Belling range. The main issue was, sadly, that I couldn't expand the shelf without a seeking the help of a man for his strength. The little metal springs that are inserted into the overlapping tubular parts of the grid, designed to restrict the sliding movement of one over the other, popped out when the shelf was being 'extended' and had to be manually re-inserted. This was possible, but fiddly. Although the problem has been fixed, and the shelf is fine and meets my needs, it was a shame that it proved so difficult to adjust in the first place.

  Oven shelf - check oven width BEFORE purchase 13 July 2011

  Seemed like a great idea, but should have checked the dimensions of my oven before purchasing. It is just too wide for my Esse ovens but it is quite useful in the fridge, although it didn't really need extra shelving!

  There's nothing wrong with the shelf. It's fine, but my new oven is too wide-or the shelf doesn't extend far enough.

  My Cannon C50GCIW cooker is among the many cookers you list as suitable for your "Universal Extendable Oven Shelf" ES655005. The correct shelves for this cooker have prongs which slide into holes in the cooker's side walls. This shelf ES655005 has no prongs and cannot be fitted to this cooker. I suggest you correct this misinformation at once. Thank you!

  Easily Bends 13 March 2011

  I found the shelf to be very lightweight, however to pull it appart meant that I had to use quite a bit of strength and when it expanded it was bent. I have used it and it can hold heavy baking equipment.

  Usable with care 27 December 2010

  We've managed to use the shelf, but it has to be used with care in our oven. The problem is that once the shelf gets past the (narrow) front of the slot the shelves slide on, the shelf can move from side to side and so fall down. By leaving it as far to the front as possible and adjusting it to a tight fit the shelf can be used with care, but it's not ideal. In ovens without this problem the shelf would be good. The original oven shelves were designed to prevent the sideways movement.

  Useful extra shelf 09 August 2010

  Stiff to extend, but his is a good thing, as frame not as thick as my original shelves and this keeps it tight and stops it moving Ordered as an extra with other items. Espares didn't pack it in with other items, so I had to ring and wait a few minutes before a CS rep spoke to me. They took my details and a few days later the item was sent.

  Extendable Oven Shelf 06 July 2010

  A very useful product, there are many times when just the two shelves as usually suppliied are not enough. The shelf is adjusted by sliding the end sections in and out of the main centre section. However, the only downside is the small springs are easily dislodged and you end up searching the kitchen floor for them. You have to remember to hold them in place when adjusting.
