  The part comes complete with new bulb, glass cover and plastic glass cover removal tool. A bit fiddly to fit but easy enough once you have taken enough panels off the oven. The new fitting just pushes into place once the old one has been pushed out. Take a photo of the wiring before you pull off the spade connectors so you know the correct connections when you put it back. The replacement fitting needed to have the connectors carefully bent down so it fitted inside the casing. I was worried they might break off but they were fine. There is a terminal block that needs to be unbolted and fitted back on the new fitting but done easily enough with needle nosed pliers. You will need a T25 torx key to unbolt all the oven casing panels, they are not standard cross head screws. Good luck!

  Bosch oven light 27 March 2014

  We only needed the lamp and glass cover, but were advised that we had to buy the base housing as well, so the unit was a lot more expensive than anticipated before ordering. The removal tool, for the glass cover, was of no use as the glass dome had already shattered, and we had to remove the remaining glass with a hammer and cold-chisel. However, fitting the bulb and glass afterwards took less than a minute.

  Item arrived in very quick time. I've given 5* for ease of fitting because it is easy ONCE the old one is out. The replacement is slightly different form original in the way the spring clips operate, but it is a push in fit. I ended up butchering the old housing to get it out. There was a problem re-attaching a small fitting with two wires, held to the housing with a small nut & lockwasher, you need a suitable socket and another person to assist with a torch or inspection light. Gave up trying to fit the lockwasher but made sure it was very securely tightened. If Neff were more generous with the length of wires onto the housing it would have helped. Probably saved around £40 in labour costs but wouldn't like to do it again.

  Improved design on the original - but some problems in fitting 07 October 2013

  I undertook to replace this part in a Neff oven for my daughter. The original had been damaged - the ceramic lamp holder was broken. The excellent e-Spares video is sadly no help as it only explains how to remove the glass and fit a new bulb. The holder is held in by clips which spring out when it is fitted, so removing the old one is a challenge (in my case solved by the use of surgical forceps - but not everyone has those!) Then there was the problem of the connections. There are the normal live, neutral and earth spade connectors - removing them also required the above mentioned forceps. In addition there was a block with three wires, attached to the rim of the lamp-holder by a tiny threaded stud with a shake-proof washer and a nut. The wires were very short and the mounting was vertical. It was impossible to remove the connectors, so the block was removed by taking off the nut. Replacing the same on the new fitting was the real challenge, eventually accomplished before pushing the other connectors on and clipping the lamp-holder in place in the top of the oven - permanently - it can really only be removed again if it needs to be replaced!

  Reset the clock on at least some Neff ovens before testing! 20 May 2013

  Bought this, arived promptly and fitted without too much difficulty (just a bit fiddly), but the light didn't come on. Checked all the contacts etc, and in the end called out a local service company. They set the clock and it works! (Fortunately they didn't charge a full call out). So after fitting make sure you set the clock before testing the light.

  Can't be faulted 20 April 2013

  I only really wanted the glass cover but I could not find that as a separate item. The bulb will no doubt be useful in the future, with luck I shall never have to replace fitting itself. The glass removal tool is perfect, I already had one but having two increases my chance of finding one when I need it!
