  Needed the strong man who pulls tractors 16 October 2015

  Glad to have the belt, dyson now working. Thank you.. However the putting on procedure was very difficult. Once one end of the belt is put on the broom the other end has has to be pushed upwards though the "chute". It has then to be twisted through 90 degrees to slip past the tiny gap between the plastic side of the housing and the metal post. When this is accomplished it can be slipped onto the post which drives the motor and makes the broom work.

  The belt lasts a few years but it is difficult to replace because of the tight space at the electric motor shaft.

  The belt is impossible to fit following the instructions supplied (unless you have very long, very thin and very strong thumbs). An alternative method in which the belt is first fitted to the drive spindle and then manoeuvred over the brush roller works but requires an extra pair of hands and considerable effort.

  Very easy to order and fast delivery. The opportunity to pay with Paypal was also helpful. The belt itself was extremely difficult to fit because there was very little 'give'. It took two of us, two screwdrivers and about 15 minutes to manage.

  The eSpares video showing how to fit the cleaner's belt was particularly helpful. It's a pity that Dyson can't design their machinery better, to avoid the almost impossible right-angled one-handed twist needed in a high tension belt within a minute space. It was only when watching the eSpares video that I was made aware that my machine has a second filter, so I changed that also. The machone's suction has improved enormously.
