  Fan Belts 29 December 2008

  Not a lot you can say about a fan belt, I am not awere of the life expectancy of this product as mine was damaged due to an opperatioal error. my only concern was the difficulty of fitting it dispite the instuction enclosed. i found it took two peole to fit it and doing it back to frontwas the only wayto get it fitted

  Fitting a belt to a Dyson 29 December 2008

  Well, as a feeble woman of 65, I found this task almost impossible. You need hands of steel. My DC7, purchased only this year was, up until the belt broke, a boon and I was more than happy with it. To fit the new belt was extremely difficult requiring exceptional strength in hands and fingers, neither of which I have, and the machine cannot be easily balanced either during this operation, so there is nothing against which purchase can be made to assist in the process. I do not know how frequently this operation will have to be repeated, but dread it. I would be interested in finding out the experiences of other DC7 users and how they have coped with this situation.

  took 3 of us to pull the belt and get it under the spool. It was very tight. We had to pull it with some string threaded around it!

  if you have your vac screeming out loud sounds when vac.ing this is the one over time the belt can strech which stops the brush from picking up as fast real easy to install if you have a vac with no cluch on side to stop the brush when yousing hose un fasern sole plate were brush is i find it easy to do with 1p or 2p coin to get to it y pay somone £15 plus parts when it only take two ticks save and diy

  Vacuum Belts for Dyson 24 October 2008

  These belts are good value from this store but they dont last a long time, or at least they dont last me a long time - and they are very difficult to fit! I have to leave it to my husband who has stronger hands than I have. I looked online at the Dyson site for advice on how to fit beforehand.
