  Having been told that it was virtually imposible to fit a new brush bar belt, it would have been tempting to call an electrician. Being one who likes a challenge, I thought I would order the part anyway. Ten minutes after it's very quick arrival my Dyson was working once again. Much cheaper than calling in an electrician!!

  Without a special tool known only to Dyson I don't think any one with normal length fingers could install the belt in the way described in your beautiful leaflet. I eventually did it the opposite way round - belt on motor first & the after a struggle threaded the rotor throgh the belt _ & it wasn't easy!

  dyson hoover belts 11 February 2009

  when this item arrived it took me 20 mins to get fitted and as soon as i used the hoover the belt snapped when i compared the belt to the orginal one i found that the belt that was sent to me was much smaller than the orginal

  Quality belts if a little difficult to fit to the DC07. I used to old snapped belt to feed through and pull the new belt long enough to loop onto the spindle.
