  Additions to a bargain buy 05 June 2015

  Purchased a Vax vacuum cleaner/ washer from a boot sale taking a chance electrically it was OK. I O/Hd and tested electrics - motor etc having ordered E spares filters. Items sent fitted perfectly and cleaner now works like a dream.

  Take note if you have the very earliest model of Vax.. 08 April 2015

  The product is a Vax original so no problem with the quality and they do fit my very old cleaner. But the very earliest models (I think model 121) had a large calico filter in the segment between the bucket and the motor housing. The supplied "cone" filter doesn't replace this. But my original calico filter still works and can be washed (just a pig to get out and back in again) The bags and motor filters are fine. Take care lining up the hose connector and ensure it goes into the bag, not just offset. Otherwise you WILL end up washing the calico filter!

  Life in the old Dog. 10 February 2015

  I needed to get my Vax 4000 out of retirement to clean up debris left from a ceiling removal job. The room was a fog and after settling the dust was everywhere. The Vax could not cope with an alien bag which did not fit propery. Espares came to my rescue with their Vacuum Cleaner Multifunction Bag and Filter Maintenance Kit. Once fitted (the two filters and one of the 5 bags supplied in the Kit) the VAX 4000 cleaned up and performed like new again. Should have bought the kit sooner!
