  Not a task for the inexperienced diy'er 21 September 2014

  Although the video was helpful, the fitting for my particular machine was slightly different, in place of elasticated bands holding the seal in place, the cabinet end of the seal was held in by a large plastic circlip, and the inner one by a metal clip which tighened via a threaded rod. Access was awkward, but possible without removing either the front cover, or concrete balance weight, but took some time and effort to do. The seal was well made and a good fit, and was delivered remarkably quickly.

  Good quality part....However 12 September 2014

  I purchased this door seal from e spares and it was delivered very quickly. The part seemed to be of good quality and the same size as the seal that i had removed. Unfortunately, when i tried to fit the new part to my machine i couldn't manage to make the seal fit around the inner lip (nearest to the drum). After trying for a couple of hours i eventually gave up and had to call a washing machine engineer out to fit the part for me :-(

  Door seal for Hoover washing machine 03 September 2014

  Easy enough to fit on a Hoover machine, all you need is a 7mm nut spinner and a small 7mm spanner. You can do it from through the door, but it is easier if you take the top of as you can see what your doing with the rear clamp as this needs to be slackened with the spinner and spanner. Personally I also changed the rear retaining clamp and front door band, but if you watch how you take them off they should be ok. Somebody ok at DIY should be able to change this out, good price and delivery as always by espares.

  Good value purchase 11 June 2014

  Make sure you check out video's of how to fit this before you start and make sure you have the right tools available. Hoover is really difficult to do. Thought this was a one man job, but it took two of us to change it. The inner drum spring is difficult to get off.

  If you are an average do it yourselfer the fitting will be OK, take notice of how the old one comes apart or you may struggle, mine was for a Candy machine ,not a lot of room but manageable

  Perfect Fit 13 March 2014

  After reading the reviews of others, how difficult to fit.... I was worried! However although the panels on my machine do not remove, the top does as does the control panel, after removing the plastic outer snap ring there is ample space to remove the inner lock band, a simple socket and extension bar makes the task easy. What I will say is look closely at the seal before removing the old one, the refit is quite straight forward, I'm no engineer, useful with my hands yes the job took around 45 minutes, it's the first time I've done this, so guess around 20 minutes next time. Don't be fooled by people's reviews, if you can change a bicycle puncture you have the skill for this. Just watch how you remove it, and guess what the refit is the reverse.... As Nike say "just do it!"

  Dont try this at home 20 February 2014

  Would not advise self fitting if machine does not have removeable front. After hours of trying we had to give up and get a repair man. He has returned twice but I am not convinced its properly fitted so now have to get the Hoover Repair Engineer . Not so easy as is made out to be and would recommend get the proper engineer to start with.

  Impossible to fit 03 February 2014

  The part arrived OK - but could have done with some instructions. We watched the video but it did not relate to our hotpoint which seems to have a welded front cover. So getting the old seal off was hard putting the new one on proved to be impossible and a wasted Sunday afternoon. We have given up and called a washing machine repair specialist....
