Worth a try to save having to buy a new washing machine 12 November 2011
Yes, it was a major repair job, a job I would probally not have attempted but for the E-spares video showing how to replace the bearings on my washing machine. All went smoothly during the dismantling until removal of the drum from the bearings at which point it was obvious that the bearings were seized onto the spindle shaft.I perservered,and by brute force managed to extract the spindle from the bearings. The rest of the job went well and i'm pleased to say that the washing machine is now running silently and so far working well.

These bearings were a really good fit into the back of the drum housing on my hotpoint WT960. Once the old ones had been knocked out they went in quite easily, apart from seperating the front bearing from the spider which had seized on the shaft. If in any doubt get them fitted by a qualified engineer. Worth buying a new spider also as the shaft does become damaged depending on the timescale of the bearing failure...

I have used e-spares before & I've always had 100% satisfaction. This time was no different. Parts arrived one day before I expected it to. Bearings fitted perfectly although you need to know what you're doing when using some tools & stripping down equipment. I have experience in servicing electro/mechanical equipment so found it easy to do, but, for those who are new to this sort of job, the accompanying video show you exactly what needs to be done to replace parts. Job was finished same day & no more noise from spinning machine & from complaining missus.Thanks E-Spares, I'll certainly use your services again.

Baering Kit for Hotpoint WT741/P -- Not advised--- 01 January 2012
Bearing Kit ordered from E-spares with no problems. However this kit was for a Hotpoint WT741/P (7kg machine). Once machine was taken apart it was impossible to split the outer tub. It appears that hotpoint have plastic welded or used a super strong adhesive. This makes it impossible to dismantle the tub without causing damage or cracking it. This should be a resonable task to complete in a couple of hours. So from a personal opinion this is not a servicable part for this machine. I would not advise changing the bearings on this machine. Same your time and money & buy a different washing machine.
