    Bosch Exxcel WAE24162UK 30 January 2010

Spent about 2 hours fitting it. Followed video - useless -doesn't show the hard parts. But also used 'sandycam96' instructions which were very useful. Found fitting the inner spring very difficult until I put the machine carefully on its back supported by a block of wood to prevent damage to water inlet valve, waste and pipe clips. After fitting the seal to the inner rim carefully turn the seal 'inside' out so its inside the drum giving you more room to work. With a helping hand I found the spring 'fell' naturally on to the seal so I was only stretching it to fit around the seal not trying to feed it and stretch it at the same time. This bit then took us 3 minutes after struggling for half an hour!

    Excellent service 25 November 2009

Found an obscure item here, paid a very reasonable rate for it and it arrived about three days later. A great site.

Replacement washing machine door seal 01 October 2009

After a couple of years of reliable service, my bosch washing machine developed a tear in the door seal (personally I think my wife did it by accident) I considered buying a new machine, but checked e-spares and quickly found the part, and a very useful video that gave the basics of the removal - the guy in the video said that it was a 'tricky' job - understatement... but there is a certain satisfaction that I fixed the machine and didn't have to pay a repair man arguably 4 times as much to do the job. This was a tricky repair, but I feel confident that with some support from espares videos, I can repair anything - bring on the hoover!!!!

Fitting the Bosch door seal 08 August 2009

Espares were excellent, correct part, delivered quickly and at a reasonable price. The tips from other customers are invaluable as without sandycam96 instructions l would have had the machine in a 1000 pieces. Took me 30 mins with the help of my son! Many thanks Dave

    Clamp 06 April 2009

I used a clamp to hold the inner spring in place, while stretching it around the seal, also held the spring joint together with tape.

    IT FITTED! 14 March 2009

Sandycam96's fitting instructions were very helpfull, it took me about 1hour to fit. The inner seal is a bit fiddly and springs are tight to put back on. A bit of patience, determination and an extra pair of hands is required.

Bosch Exxcel washing mach. door seal WF02466GB/01 18 January 2009

Product arrived promptly. Genuine article. Good price. I hope this will help those who are a bit worried about fitting it themselves. Ensure that you have the correct seal. Unplug machine from electric socket. Take off top, (two screws at rear, slide back and lift). Open door wide. Note correct way up of seal. Front of seal is held on with a wire band which is tensioned by a spring. Find spring, ours was on left side by hinge. Take a long nose pliers and locate in to eye of spring lift to ease tension and pull towards you. Wire band will now start to come off and towards you. Carefully pull wire off, all way round until it is completely off. Prise front of seal away from machine body, note the way it is attatched as it will help when reassembling. Next, push your hands in to back of seal feel all round as it will have to be done by touch. Gently and firmly pull seal down and away from its holding ring, at this time you will feel and see a tension spring coming away with it. Feel all around and try to note, (by touch) the hollow in the seal that this spring locates in. remove seal and spring. Take new seal, correct way round and up and push seal on to holding ring. I started at 12 o'clock and worked my way round on both sides. Once you get to 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock you will know if the seal has moved away from its correct position. (the holes at the bottom will not be at 6 o'clock) If this happens you will have to undo what you have done and re align seal. At the 3 & 9 o'clock position another pair of hands to hold seal at 3 o'clock is helpful this will allow you to concentrate on fitting seal bit by bit without fear of it slipping off. once this is on run your hands round the circumference to ensure that all of the seal is attatched. Next I linked the spring to itself and squeezed the hooks on it to ensure they did not come apart. Push the spring around the seal, hold at 12 o'clock in the groove, work your way carefully down both sides to around the 9 & 3 o'clock position. Another hand to hold spring at 3 o'clock will allow you to work your way down, around and up to 3 o'clock. Spring should now be all the way round the seal groove. Pull front of seal on to front panel lip, fit all way round, then fit wire band round, stretching at the final part the spring with the long nose pliers. This job took me around 25 minutes with the aid of my son. Hope this helps someone.
