  Slight snag 26 September 2011

  Having viewed the e-spares video, I took the old hinge off the machine and heard the dreaded 'clunk' as the back plate dropped into the machine! However, another e-spares video showed me how to take the front seal off the door and this enabled me to retrieve the back plate and complete the repair at a fraction of the cost of a call-out to a repair company.

  washing machine hinge for the second time 16 February 2011

  having cracked it the first time !!!!got to be easy the second time!! still dropped the holding bar. had to tip the machine on its side to retreive,holding it in position with my hand trapped by the drum, then had to call aneighbour for assistance??? with regards to E Spares delivery and assistance Excellent would recomend them to anyone

  Stronger hinge than the one fitted. Could have done with tip on how to fit. Required top taking off anr thin arms to get the back plate into the correct position

  Washing Machine / Tumble Dryer Door Hinge 15 August 2010

  This hinge is identical to the original part (including markings) that I replaced due to metal fatigue. This means that this part is just as likely to fail in four years time... Before I replaced this part, I unscrewed the three screws on the back of the table top cover & took the cover off so that I could secure the backing plate that the two hinge retaining screws go into. Thereby, preventing a lot of wasted time rumaging around for the back plate. I also replaced both Washing Machine / Tumble Dryer Hinge Bearings as these were damaged when the metal failed. You may prefer to use the original Washing Machine / Tumble Dryer Hinge Bearings, but the fitting procedure is the same:- After fitting the hinge to the washing machine, I unscrewed the three screws on the door, prised the door inner & outer apart with a blunt table knife, removed the plastic Washing Machine / Tumble Dryer Hinge Bearings, slid the Washing Machine / Tumble Dryer Hinge Bearings over the hinge & reassembled the door. Thereby, reattaching the door to the washing machine. I did it this way for ease & to prevent the weight of the door making the securing the hinge to the washing machine more difficult. As each model may vary, you may have to do things slightly differently.

  Hinge Replacement 28 January 2010

  Cannot see how you can reasonably avoid the hinge backplate from dropping when you remove the door and hinge(This is poor design) Do not despair, it is usually found beneath the machine. Assemble the hinge to the door and place on the machine in the closed position - the latch and the hinge protrusions will keep it in place, Remove the machine top panel to gain access. Make sure you have the back plate in the correct orientation to locate on the hinge from the rear. Try it to see! Put some super glue on the face of the backplate and place in position. Leave to thoroughly dry Remove the door carefully leaving the backplate correctly glued to the rear face of the front panel. CAREFULLY REPLACE THE DOOR WITH ACCESS TO REPLACE THE SCREWS. Do not apply any pressure until the threads have fully engaged withthe backplate. Works a treat.

  On the plus side, the service is v good and this was the cheapest site, so no doubt I'd use it again since I've used it before. Only concern is quality, I'm buying a hinge for the second time, the first replacement broke after a year, maybe I was unlucky.

  door hinge 09 July 2009

  Took a few days to get it sent to me. The door hinge its self was easy to replace. The original broke at one end because of its fairly weak design, I think this one will break aswell, hopefully not too soon.
