  Quite a nuisance to fit. If the tang which rests on the door casing was made longer it would have been easier and been more secure. I must say that the door itself is also poor in design where the latch spring fits could have been widened and thicker.

  good product but not easy to fit. 23 February 2014

  Some fitting instructions would have been helpful. When I did eventually manage to dismantle the door, the problem was not the spring but the door itself where the plastic had fractured. This is the weak spot. I managed to insert some shim steel between door frame and latch spring and this appears to have fixed the problem for the time being. If it doesn't it will mean a new door, but the quality of the door latch spring was good and I did fit the new one while I had it all in bits.

  Difficult to fit 14 December 2013

  I bought this spring with a door latch. Parts are fine and good quality but I have spend ages trying to fit them to the door. I have made up special tools to assist, but without success so far. may be there is a trick I am missing. The problem is that you cannot hold the spring on the axis of the pivot pin and thus cannot assemble the pin. perhaps there are some tips ?

  I see from other reviews on this part that some customers appear to have had no problems while others may have struggled. This suggests it is more a knack when fitting rather than using a special tool. Try removing the door and assembling on a table as it may be more obvious how to assemble when off the machine. When you 'crack it' please pass the information on to us in another review to help future customers.

  Great to be able to buy just the bit you need 03 September 2012

  I was very impressed that I was able to buy just the spring for my tumble drier door catch. It arrived quickly and was appropriately packaged. The low assessment of ease of fitting is thanks to the design of the catch (and probably my lack of a simple special tool or jig) rather than any criticism of teh product.
