  Fridge Plexiglass Shelf 17 March 2014

  Ordered one of these for our Creda fridge freezer. Was a bit concerned about the need to cut to size myself - but it was far easier than I expected - just cut it with a normal wood saw and sanded down the sharp edges. It is not quite as 'stiff' as the original shelf, but it will do the job and I've got a spare as well now as the piece supplied was big enough to make 2 shelves. Overall, good value for money.

  Cost effective alternative 04 February 2014

  The Plexiglass compatible provides a cost effective solution at a fraction of the cost of a genuine manufacturer's fridge shelf. The Plexiglass sheet was easily cut using a wood saw and the cut edges can be rounded using a medium file. On our particular fridge the runners slope upwards over the last inch or so at the inner end. it was therefore necessary to cut away the shelf by the width of the runner over this distance to ensure the shelf stays level when fitted.

  Replacement Fridge Shelf 16 January 2014

  Astounded by the ridiculous price of a replacement shelf from SMEG for our fridge/freezer - itself not our best buy ever - we looked around for an alternative and found this product. The plexiglass was easy to cut with a small toothed saw and shape with a file. It is more flexible than glass but the amount supplied enabled us to cut two shelves and "double-up" which helped considerably. I would recommend this product.

  replacement shelf for fridge 05 December 2013

  I found the plexiglass quite easy to cut to size , but care must be taken if you are less experienced, Iused a fine toothed panel handsaw and then took time to dress the cut edges with a medium file, the whole operation took around forty minutes. very pleased with the result and the cost, no hesitation in using this website again

  The shelf has to be cut quite carefully. I used a wood saw and it left some small cracks around the edges. Shelf will not support a heavy weight and might be stronger with an edging strip fitted to front edge. Anyway, it is much cheaper than a glass shelf and does the job well enough and so I would recommend it.

  Easy to cut with a jig-saw and fine tooth blade but I hurried the second edge and got a bit of a wobble in it - so take your time! There's enough left over to make a second shelf but I'll leave it till this one breaks

  Made 3 shelves for my fridge from 2 sheets - cut fine with a jigsaw. Slight flex but nothing to worry about. Better than paying the eye-watering price for the originals (which broke in the first place).
