  Method of fixing the wires needs reviewing 31 August 2012

  The switch was delivered promptly and upon unpacking appeared to be of good quality. However the way in which the wires should be attached was very unclear.No fitting instructions were included. It was also unclear from looking at the old switch as to how you removed the wires. I solved the latter by taking the old switch apart ( didn't matter if I damaged it as it didn't work anyway ). I could now see that the wires were a push fit into the switch. As the solder tinning on the end of the wires was still firm I pushed them into the new switch having checked that there was power coming to the input side. The new switch doesn't work. So as I am now unable to disconnect the switch, using the method used for disconnecting the old one,it leaves me in the position of: a) not being able to remove the switch to refix it and see if that sorts the situation b) not being able to remove the switch to return it ( without damaging it ! c) not being able to see if there is another problem as well So do I just get another switch and hope that is the solution or try and find a repair shop? I am not a fixit expert but I'm not a total beginner either.
