  Not what I had hoped for. 04 January 2018

  I purchased this for a large Smeg oven. Previous ones have come as a simple seal made to the right size and with clips pre-fitted. These take 2 minutes to fit. This Universal kit has to be measured and cut to size with mitred corners allowing for the right amount of tension to ensure it stays in place. the push the clips in place. Fiddly to do. The seal was much to thick for the Smeg door, which would not close properly with the seal on. So, I had to remove the seal and reduce the overall thickness and refit. The clips then needed bending in to ensure the tension was there. Not impressed by this. It does work, but I wanted a straightforward Smeg seal.

  Great idea, terrible clips 20 August 2015

  The rubber seal and the approach to cutting and fitting is fine. The design of the clips is dreadful engineering. First the metal is too soft. Second, the lug that goes in the cooker hole should be on the inside of the corner so that the holding stress pushes into the angle rather than pulling it outwards. Result, lugs straightening out in use and quite quickly breaking. Elementary.

  Check seal shape 17 April 2014

  the universal seal would be perfect if your seal has 90 degree corners, mine had arc radius corners so did not fit supplied corner fixings. I managed to cut out the old corner inserts and make it fit reasonably well but need some DIY skills to do this

  oven door seal 04 December 2013

  Easy to cut to size but had to drill holes in oven to fit with 2mm drill bit which wasnt mentioned on website. Oven door will not shut flush so a little disappointed, should have ordered genuine part.

  We have fitting information in the product description advising what to check before ordering this seal. We would not recommend you drill the oven surround unless the seal for your oven was unavailable and you were unable to identify a suitable alternative.

  Took a chance, as without removing oven from housing did not have model number of very old Tricity double oven. The product was easy to cut and fit, but as the rubber profile was incorrect, the oven door no longer closed properly and couldn't see how to make any adjustment. Can't blame eSpares for my gambling.

  easy enough to cut & fit but the seal is nowhere near as thick as the original allowing hot air to escape from the fan assisted oven. Perhaps you can alter the door hinges I dont know !

  Doesnt really solve the seal issue totally, heat still escaping from top of door on my Belling oven. Should have paid more money and got the correct 1 for the oven.

  Not fit for purpose 21 July 2011

  This seal was supposed to be appropriate for a SMEG cooker and although it has been fitted correctly, the door cannot close properly because of the thickness of the new seal. Please replace or refund. Vic

  Oven door seal 18 July 2011

  Checked with the online sales and was advised that this product would fit! E-spares show example of the "right and wrong" part fitting, my choice was the "right" so proceeded to order! Part arrived but was for a square cornered door seal, mine is curved. I will make it fit, but wish I hadn't had the hassle of having to do this! Also, part is very expensive.. so is their postage!
