  This should have worked. It fits the light cover but not quite tightly enough. Having changed this bulb about 4 times in the oven's four year life I knew what I was doing but somehow it's stuck and I'm more annoyed with Siemens for the design. If you could get into the top corner of the oven better without running into the element it might be possible to apply enough pressure (upwards) and/or put something into the slit on top of the product (giant screwdriver style) to turn it. It isn't particularly dirty so that is not the problem - just a rubbish screw thread I think. Product could have worked but didn't! Might need rocket science!!!

  The lamp cover remover fits the cover well, but the cover is so tight that I need to find some way of attaching a lever to the remover to exert more force.

  Needed effort 24 March 2016

  Tool arrived within 36 hours of ordering with standard delivery. Removal took much longer than I anticipated based upon other reviews (20 minutes from start to finish). Perseverance paid off and limited profanities used!

  Not helpful for me but found a solution. 16 June 2015

  Purchased one of these with a bulb. Started by taking off door and shelves. It fits the cover well but cover still completely blocked at about 15 degrees and no amount of force would shift it. Eventually got bulb cover off by getting both hands on the cover and pulling down at the same time as turning.. came off easily this way when I had been struggling for ages without the downward pull. (You cannot get this downward pull using the tool)

  needs a strong wrist 09 December 2014

  Position of light in oven very awkward. The remover tool fits well but keeps slipping off. I was unable to unscrew but think when I get a man with a strong wrist to turn it, it will be alright. Have to wait until son or son in law comes for Christmas unless anyone has a better idea.

  Only average! Am I being fair - or is it just me? 08 August 2014

  The problem: replacing the light in my oven. BUT I am unable to unscrew the glass cover. I consult the Seimens manual and order 'a special removal tool'. It still will not shift. I query my own competence. I have been brought up to treat machinery with great respect. i.e. to use the proper tools; do not use excessive force and so on. As I write the problem remains. My pride will not permit me to send for a 'professional'. [to change a light bulb !!!] but I shall persevere. N.B. The bulb which I have ordered has not yet arrived and when it does and the light is working I look forward to sending you an 'above average' review.

  Removing oven bulb covering 12 January 2014

  The lamp cover remover does not work until the oven is heated up. Then it is too easy to burn yourself in the process on the element. The whole process of replacing a bulb seems to be ridiculously tedious.

  Not quite up to the job 11 August 2013

  I think we have a not one of the most model cookers a Neff! The cover is still locked tight and the tool not quite deep enough to grip the cover. I have left some oven cleaner soaking to see if it can be moved but I think the cover seat is moving in the oven liner. The principle of the tool is perfect I think we are just unlucky that the glass cover is so tightly jammed.
