  Lack of suction; fixed. 13 May 2015

  When this pipe gets old and the plastic stiffens, or develops a split, it does not flex as it should when the angle of the vacuum cleaners head changes. this breaks the seal at one end or other of this tube, result is a loss of suction. It is worth replacing despite being an expensive part for what it is.

  The hoses on Dyson cleaner are the weak links. Splits in this hose causes poor suction. This replacement was not easy to fit, though, despite the Espares video. Getting the push fit end off required quite a lot of wiggling about; twisting to fit the other end of the new one wasn't easy either. You need good manual dexterity for this job. Once fitted the cleaner works like new!

  The video clip was extremely helpful in showing how to change the part. Actually changing the part required a strong twist, but once done the repair has worked very well - the dyson is back to its old self again.
