  when you get to the damper legs just remove the plug pins at the top and save having to order new ones as the lugs at the bottom snap very easily when the two screws are removed

  Change of design 29 March 2012

  Decided to renew the two dampers as a routine part of changing the drum bearings. On arrival found the new dampers to be of a new, and perhaps improved design. No problems with fitting, except that I was a little concerned at the thinness of the plastic lower mount where it is threaded to take the two fastening screws, as compared to the original. So I added a flat washer and nut to each screw to insure against the stripping of the plastic threads when the dampers are in use.

  Better than the originals 30 January 2012

  Bought these when changing the bearings on my Hotpoint WT960p. I broke one of the originals when removing the drum. The plastic pin pushes out - something not shown on the espares video. These dampers are much sturdier than the rectangular originals.

  Reasonably priced parts 23 December 2011

  Unfortunately, my diagnosis of my machine's problem proved not to be worn dampers. Although they have improved the excessive play from the drum, I have now been told that the bearing(s) is the likely problem. This said however, I have used espares on several occasions. They have never let me down and will continue to use them. Fitting the damper legs was relatively easy. The only problem proved to be gaining access to remove the old mounting pins. On my machine (Hotpoint WT940), because of the restricted access, I found it easier to chop off the retaining lip of the mounting pin and tap it through enough to pull it out with a pair of pliers. The rest is then a piece of cake. Good luck with your endeavour and Merry Christmas!

  damper kit 06 September 2011

  i bought these as replacements 4 my wf860p as a gamble but im clad i got them as the originalls cost £45.99 per dampner and £9.99 for the pins each they took me 10mins to take old ones off and put new ones in and its much more easier than i thought but saying i have striped down and gave my washer a full recon and its good as new again and much cheaoer than buying new
