Saw these for sale in a well respected High Street shop, but were at lower cost with espares. Once you get over the noise of the balls in the tumble dryer they seem to work ok.

Softening with this product appears to be overstated. Softening of towels etc. not as good as chemical product. Unable to evaluate power savings!

can't really see much difference in any clothes i've removed from drier since using these drier balls, only real difference is that the drier is more noisy albeit until the drier balls soften with the heat.

These appear to do the job - definitely soften the laundry but my husband and daughter complain about the noise when the dryer is on!

Items arrived promptly, appear good quality and worked as required when tumble drying a padded coat. The washing instructions for the coat specified drying using clean tennis balls. Price with postage can be beaten by items on Amazon because of cheaper or no postage charge, but watch the quality.

These looked silly when they arrived and I didn't think they would make any difference to my wash but now I don't use fabric softener at all and mainly dry the washing as much as possible on the line and then finish it off with a 20 minute tumble with the balls. No need to iron usualy and the washing is wonderful and feels soft. Highly recomended.

Do the job well, but can rattle in the drum 28 December 2011
The dryer balls seem to work well, making the clothes softer and taking less time to dry. However, they can make a noise when they clatter around the drum. As mine is in the garage, this isn't too much of an issue, but would be if the dryer is in the house.
