  This part is well worth investing, even if you have no trouble heating you unit. I replaced mine withing 20 minutes and have now prolonged the life of my drier. After taking off the old element, I had found that the heat proof material on it had all but gone. It heated up fine, but given how the heat is transfered through the drier, it doesn't take a Sherlock to figure out that the element was just about had is. Brittle and fell apart once it was removed from the back. Even a novice at repairs will be able to fit this part. Anyone wanting to prolong the life of your unit, I'd advise to buy this and fit it. It take about 10 to 20 minutes to replace, but can add years to your unit.

  exact replacement - easy to fit 29 April 2015

  Hotpoint 580P Condenser Dryer - unusual symptoms of heater element. the heater and thermostats worked fine, but when moving into the cooling part of the cycle (last 10 mins) the house RCD would trip out - clearly a current spike when switching off the heater element. as it's a resistive load, I wasn't sure that was the fault, but buying a new element/thermo kit on the off chance was a lot cheaper than calling out an engineer to check. watched the excellent eSpares video first to get an idea. Top off - side off - rear heater cover off - 10 minutes to swap and refit parts in reverse order. took longer to vacuum out the fluff from inside! only downside was that the replacement power connector didn't have a safety latch, so after replacing, I put a tie-wrap across both halves of connector to prevent it vibrating loose. it all seems to be fine now and hasn't tripped out again (so far :^)

  Did the job it needed to.. There may be cheaper non OEM parts available elsewhere, however, they do not come with the thermostats already fitted and the reassurance of an original equipment manufacturer.

  Chose espares as part was genuine creda. check your serial number on dryer,to make sure you order the correct element. element easy to fit. recommend remove top, left hand side panel. then the element cover.remove faulty element, fit new element and cover ,side panel and top and test.
