Washing machine door seal 21 December 2010

Excellent quality for an unbranded item that is certainly great value for the cost. This was fairly easy to fit, although I did need a second pair of hands. Will definately use this again, when needed.

Bought original Bosch previously, shouldn't have wasted my money. Just as good as the original and a fraction of the price. Quite easy to fit, maybe because the front cover comes off my Bosch machine.

Posssibly as good as the original but at bargain price. 04 December 2010

Had to replace the Bosch door seal because the cat had taken a bite out of the original one (Really!!). This budget one fitted perfectly and does the job just as well as the branded one. However the video makes refitting the retaining spring look much easier than it really is. I found it impossible without assistance and without making a simple tool (which e-spares might consider supplying with the seal). This is my advice on fitting the seal:- 1. Make the tool to stretch ths spring over. I used a 12mm x 6mm wood strip and drilled 6mm holes at 340mm centres. Then I cut through the centre of each hole so there was a groove each end for the spring the fit in. Your assistant needs a similar tool grooved at one end. 2. Don't mess about with the Bosch door. There are 10 screws to remove and the the door will come to pieces! 3. You need a screwdriver to lever the springloaded retaining band from the front of the seal. 4. When you have managed to fit the seal onto the drum turn it inside out like a sock to give yourself working room to fit the spring. 5. With the spring stretched over the tool start fitting the sping at the top and work down pushing the tool down with your thumbs and using your fingers to push the spring into its groove. When you get near the bottom your assistant needs to use the other tool to carry on pushing and stretching the spring towards the bottom for you. At this point the spring might just fly off so you have to start all over! But it can be done.

Almost identical to the one i removed. Deffinately a 2 person job to refit as you need at least 3 hands to fit the inner retaining sring! all working fine now with no leaks ;¬)

    Great value! 22 November 2010

For the price this is unbeatable. Quality was better than expected and 1/3rd of the price of the Bosch equivilent. I'm well pleased.

    Great Value 11 November 2010

This replica had all the same lumps and holes as the original so fitted perfectly. It does take 2 people to fit and needs strong fingers. I could not detect any difference from the bosch original.

the video instructions on changing the seal were excellent. You do need to have strong hands and fingers.I selected the lower cost seal and it is working well so far.

Washing Machine Door Seal 30 October 2010

Reasonable price and timely delivery. Used the instructional video which helped but fitting quite obvious. You will definitely need two people to do this to avoid perpetual swearing and elevated blood pressure! Even then its tricky....
