  easy to fit and cannot fault the service from espares, but the item itself only lasted 6 months before it needed to be changed for a new one. When its on its way out it heats up but not to correct temp.

  Having replaced many elements i have yet to find one thats heat has reduced significantly. Check the door seals and confirm if the temperature indicator goes off when your problem occurs. If the light remains lit and the oven cannot reach temperature but the seals are ok then yes it could be the element. If the light goes out it could be a faulty or out of range thermostat.

  Cheap 11 December 2011

  Easy to fit replacement. I fitted this after our oven stopped working in Feb. I'm now having to buy a replacement as its failed after 8 months. Going to go for the genuine replacement in the hope that it lasts considerably longer. Will it be "Buy cheap buy twice?" or will the genuine part be just as fallible - watch this space.

  Did not fit the hotpoint UY46X oven, wrong part on website. :-( The part had the wrong fixing to screw to back of oven. But this is the first issue that I have had and it's a mistake and we all make mistakes don't we!
