There is no steam comming out. I think it is the pump. Where can I buy a replacement pump and how do I fit it. 3 Answers

It is more likely if you are in a hard water area the appliance is blocked with limescale. Use a de-scaler like Stock Number: ES1541155
- You may get calcium deposits coming through the sole plate, sometimes brown marks from the cartridge which is a nuisance, you have to wash the laundry again to get rid of them.

My Morphy Richard Steam Iron is leaking water from the base unit onto the floor. What could be wrong? 2 Answers
- I had the same problem and found it to be build up of limescale inside the base unit. I had to take the base unit apart. There is a junction of 2 pipes where the pipe goes off to the iron. The junction has small metal clips around it. The clips easily open by squeezing and you can pull the tubes apart. Inside was completely blocked by limescale. I just poked it out with a cocktail stick and then reassembled everything. Works like new. The descaler recommended by eSpares may also do the trick without having to disassemble the base unit, but I didn't try that.

Check any seals allow to dry and place on a newspaper and refill to see if it leaks when cold or only after use.

It is likely if you have hard water that your iron is blocked with limescale. Try emptying and refilling with a product like Stock Number: ES1562116 to try and clear any limescale build up.

Glasgow is listed as not being a hard water area so the iron should not be blocked by hard water scale. If the iron cuts out and flashes when moved it suggests a break in the wiring or faulty thermostat and we would advise not to use it until checked by a competent electrician.
Does the plastic container have the sponge filter inside of it ?
