- Sadly as Caitlin says the chrome finish on the knobs soon cracks, splits and flakes off. One thing I found helped them last longer was to regularly swap the position the knobs are on the cooker, the only one that you cannot do this with is the oven control knob.
- I have found the fan on the back of the cooker blocked up. This fan helps to deflect heat from the knobs so clean the fan before replacing the knobs to prevent new knob melting.

These knobs should not melt but there are a couple customers who have advised that the chrome flakes off after a couple months and should be of better quality for a genuine replacement

- Buy the cheapest chrome and black knob, remove the chrome piece and fit to your old knob. The chrome piece can be removed by pushing out the 2 chrome lugs you can see at the rear of the knob and fitting to your old knob.

I have all the black parts but a few of the silver bits have snapped off due to children, pets etc and I've had to put some white ones I've found in - it looks terrible!

It is a Stoves Newhome EC 600. The 2 rings I use most stay on a high temperature I can't control it . would appreciate your advice.

It is likely that you require to replace both the controls for the faulty rings.
What are the quality of these knobs? I ordered some before and they peeled and melted within a few months, is there anyway to find out how heat resistant they are? 1 Answer
- not really sure why your having problems with these knobs ,i had mine on for about 5 years ,and they had only just started peeling,thats why i treated myself to new ones,treat yourself ,they do make the cooker look brand new
