Answer this question

Hi. What is the resistance of the thermostat when it is good. I have just took it out of the machine and what I can measure is more than 8kohm. I am trying to identify the problem.

We believe this is a simple thermostatic switch that should measure short circuit.

Error E3 refers to a heating problem. check the thermostat below the heater on the outside of the tub is in good contact with the tub skin and not loose. Also examine the control board for signs of burning or poor connections on the relay.

There may be a 'dry joint' on the heater relay on the control board that will allow the heater to work sometimes. Check and replace if the control board if required.

This fault could be due to the heater element (already changed) . Its thermostat or cut out (normally short circuit when ok), or a fault with the control board or wiring loom.
