    Providing the balls do not fill with water is should not be a problem to add these when washing.

    We do not have an optimal amount available but from personal experience two dryer balls seem to disperse the clothing and help dry the load sufficiently.

    Yes the drying temperatures of your dryer should be the same as a electric dryer or it would damage the clothing.
