  • The silver buttons are not included. You need to take them off the old unit and push them on the new one. Easiest bit of the job. By Oliver247 - Kent - 02 March 2010

Hi Yiddo With this part there are four switches. One for the lamp and three for speed (the lowest one incorporating on/off). I hope this helps!

It may be possible to remove in situ however we would recommend removing the hood as it will be a lot easier to work on.

Answer this question

My cooker hood fan has stopped. The lights on the hood operate OK when I press the specific switch button. The other switches for the cooker fan do not produce a result. And the small red indicator light on the switch panel does not illuminate. I know this is guesswork, does the switch tend to fail more readily or could it be the fan motor. I suspect the switch mainly because the red indicator light will no longer illuminate regardless of whether the lights or the fan switches are pressed.

Your fault description does tend to suggest the problem is likely to be the switch rather than the motor.

Answer this question

Motor does not work. Red indictor light is also out. Other lights OK. IS it the motor?

The motor failing would not on its own cause the indicator to stop working. It is more likely to be a fault with the pcb.

Answer this question

On my cooker hood the lights were not working and the fan operated intermittently, going off after 5 minutes approx. So I have replaced the PCB and now the lights work and the red led is lit but the fan does not work. Any suggestions? If the lights work and the led is lit does that mean the pcb wiring is ok and that the fan has now failed?

Hi distant, it could be that the fan is malfunctioning. My best advice would be to test each component with a multimeter to diagnose which has electrical problems.
