It is likely to be the brush bar, examine for any signs of damage.

Check the brush bar for blockages or if the brush bar belt has snapped. Ensure the soleplate tabs are fitted into the bumper strip and fasten the soleplate using the securing tabs.
Should I get a new brush bar and soleplate kit?

If the sole plate is worn or damaged it should be replaced. If the machine is picking up poorly we would suggest replacing the filters first.
Could the brush bar brushes be worn causing it to be to heavy to push

On deep pile the cleaner head will draw the brushes to the carpet with the passing air. This machine is automatic adjusting for cleaner head height so no manual adjustment can change this. Make sure your brushes are rotating but replacing them is unlikely to improve the effort needed to use it.
