Although it could be used on hard floors the purpose of a rotating brush or beater bar is to agitate carpets to help release dust and dirt so this would be more useful on rugs and carpets.
The brush has stopped spinning, and I have taken off the cover plate, but can't get the brush out. There is a bracket holding it in place, which I assume should pop off somehow, but I can't get it off, so can't get to the belt or to clean the brush itself. Any help appreciated! thank you.
- Very difficult, this does not seem to be made with cleaning in mind, only with (expensive) replacement. I found hair and such like gets wrapped around the brush and finally jams it. All I could do was cut through the hair with a knife and pull it out, not 100% successfully. Like you,I found it impossible to remove the brush for cleaning.
I have a miele s316i (cat & Dog) model and the beater brush has stopped working and the orange hazard light on the beater brush housing. does that indicate the motor has gone bad or some other problem? I've taken the housing apart, cleaned, checked connections, verified parts are free moving.

Hi Dano, if the brushroll isn't turning, it could well be the drive belt is damaged or broken. If you take the tool apart you should be able to get a closer and see if there's a problem. I'd also check for blockages in the hoses and ducting. If there's a burning smell, it'd be your motor. Hope this helps!

I HAVE THE TURBOBRUSH HEAD (STB 205-2). IT HAS STOPPED SPINNING WHEN FITTED AND TURNED ON, WHY ??? 1 Answer
BRUSH STOPPED SPINNING WHEN FITTED
- belt slack/broken/worn, or tool clogged with dust, pet fur, etc, i would suggest strip and clean and examine for wear.
