This fridge can suffer from ice build-up and has a repair kit to prevent this occurring Stock Number: ES1406833. Fully defrost before removing the cover. Fit the brackets onto the back of the upper mounting screws, replace and move the sensor to the far left of the pipework and reset codes as per the instructions. Check and replace the defrost heater if required
The water reservoir in the fridge keeps freezing is this the part I need? The small evaporator seems fine. 1 Answer

This is often caused by icing up due to a faulty defrost heater or thermal fuse. Check the heater resistance (less than 300 ohms) and thermal fuse continuity on the evaporator.
The fridge/freezer is tripping the RCD on the power distribution board 20 seconds after switching on,therefore there must be a small leakage current to earth just enough to trip the RCD, the mcb is fine. An engineer suggested that it could be the Defrost heater. I have located the evaporator coils in the fridge compartment but can't see anything resembling the above image near or on the evaporator assembly.Any ideas at to what the fault could be. After defrosting overnight after the original fault, the unit ran fine for 4 hours after being switched back on, but then once again tripped the RCD.

i have a samsung side by side rs21wcns fridge/freezer.the freezer will only freeze the bottom half, the temp keeps flashing, have been told to fit a new defrost sensor and heater will this cure the problem, thankyou 1 Answer

Your appliance has two evaporators and two defrost heaters one in fridge and one in freezer. The defrost heater is supplied by the manufacturers as a part of the evaporator assembly Stock Number: ES1567824. To replace this an engineer would use a pair of side cutters to carefully peel open the bracket 'clamps' and remove the old heater before fitting and closing the clamps to pinch up the new evaporator. This is a reasonably fiddly job but can be done with patience. Confirm heater is open circuit before replacing.
