    Excellent service as always

We received the usual excellent service from E.spares with our purchase of an oven grill element. After watching the video of the fitting procedure on the E.spares website, (in case of possible snags) , the job was completed in 30 minutes......perfect, cheese on toast back on the menu

    Excellent Purchase

Part easily ordered and came in a good time. Replacement was a breeze. Only one small problem overlooked, was that when done the oven did not work, after tracing the power, it appeared that the timing module had lock out all power, when the oven was unplugged. One click on the timing setting button and it burst into life.

  • The only awkward part of fixing on my oven was that there was a connector block to the right of the connectors which was held in place by the fixing bolt of the element. In fairness if you had a suitable long socket it is easy to replace. I only had an adjustable which made it slightly awkward. By fromtommy - Manchester - 19 February 2010

Hi Tombradshaw Replacing an oven element is a fiddly job, and if you are not confident in replacing it yourself, I would recommend talking to a qualified technician.

Many grill elements can be regulated by the oven thermostat. ensure the door is open and this is set to full.

Answer this question

Riveted inside? 1 Answer

My element seems to be riveted on the inside, either that or the two screws are badly corroded. Doesn't seem to have a philips head or star?

As you can see on this part some elements have bolts fitted to the bracket that pass through the rear wall of the oven and have nuts and washers fixing from the back. Remove the rear cabinet to access and remove these nuts.
