Hi, my bu82ss hotpoint top oven doesn't get up to temp. I'm guessing that it's the thermostat because the light comes on and it gets warm, but not hot. Does this sound reasonable? 1 Answer

Hi Mark, when you select the top oven you are using both the fast grill and bottom element, if it is not reaching temperature check both the elements. As the thermostat light is coming on it would suggest it is working OK.
My Creda 48147 top oven heats up but slowly, both elements seem to be working and they work fine on grill function. The stat cuts out when temp is eventualy reached and in again as it drops, could the stat be at fault?

Convection ovens take a lot longer than fan ovens to heat up and the fact it does regulate eventually at the correct temperature suggests the thermostat is not faulty.
appliance - creda solarspeed (checked the elements which are ok and the top fan is spinning ok when switched on.... but the grill and top oven doesnt work the light on the knob comes on ok for both functions

Check for a thermal cut out mounted near the top of the oven at the back. If this has failed it may stop the top oven working.
