Hoses are generally fixed in place by two plastic barbs that stick out of the hose and fix in the handle. To release push these barbs in with a flat bladed screwdriver and pull the hose out.

Hi dawny64, you won't need any tools to fit this hose part - it simply clicks on and off.
We got this Miele vacuum cleaner about 4 years ago from Argos as and end of range model. We never see the above model number on parts lists (assume it has changed!) The hose bent end has broken in the middle so we need another one for the hose. The above photo looks like the one we have but just need to check. Thanks
