Hi my Smeg inter grated dishwasher is making a banging noise when the dishwasher is turned on it is like as if the spray arm is hitting the door it not there all the time could it be play in the spray arms on the top or bottom of the machine?

If the end of the spray arms can be moved to contact the basket they are worn and need replacing. Make sure when noise is present nothing is lower then the bottom edge of the basket as handles or cutlery may protrude and be hit by the arms.
