carbon brush

when i fitted new ones and put machine back together their was a clicking noise from 1 side of the motor do you think i have fitted them wrong and what is the solution

  • New brushes take a short time to 'bed in' as the carbon ends wear to the rounded shape of the motor commutator where they contact it. Assuming you replaced them in the same position as the old ones.The clicking has hopefully settled by now. By Stoneybloke - Midlands - 12 September 2012
